Step 2-2: Model 3 & Model Y Data Transmitter Installation Steps

This guide applies only to Model 3 (2022–2024) and Model Y (2022–2025). For newer models, refer to Steps 2–3 for installation.

Shift the vehicle into Park (P). Gently pull back the A-pillar weatherstrip on the front passenger side. Watch out for sharp edges.

 
 

Use the pry tool to remove the plastic trim panel at dashboard level on the front passenger-side A-pillar.

Use the pry tool to remove the plastic fastener beneath the trim panel. Keep it in a safe place to prevent loss.

Remove the plastic trim panel below the A-pillar. Be careful of sharp edges.

Locate the vehicle’s CAN and PING connectors, then disconnect the PING connector.

Connect the TITA CAN connector, then connect the PING connectors to the vehicle’s original connectors. (Note: Spare CAN connector included.)

 

Power the display via USB-C. If “P” is displayed correctly, the connection is successful. If not, check that all connectors are securely attached.

Reassemble the vehicle in reverse order. Note: Pinch the plastic fastener by hand to make it easier to reinsert.

This guide applies only to Model 3 Highland (2024+) and Model Y Juniper (2025+). For other models, refer to Steps 2–2 for installation.

Use the pry tool to remove the one-piece plastic trim connecting the passenger-side A-pillar to the dashboard.

Use the pry tool to remove the plastic fastener beneath the trim panel. Keep it in a safe place to prevent loss.

Use the pry tool to lift the front passenger-side door sill trim, working from the rear toward the front.

Locate the vehicle’s CAN and PING connectors, then disconnect the PING connector.

Connect the TITA CAN connector, then connect the PING connectors to the vehicle’s original connectors. (Note: Spare CAN connector included.)

Model Y Juniper vehicles may use different data systems depending on the production location and date. To ensure full TITA functionality, connect the TITA transmitter according to your vehicle’s specific configuration.

Press and hold a blank area on the screen with two fingers, then scroll the right wheel left. If the dial face changes, the harness connection is correct. If not, try the other harness.

If you are unsure about your vehicle’s configuration, please contact us before purchasing to ensure compatibility.

Step 3: Phone Holder Installation

The included phone Holder can only be installed in front of the steering wheel.

Secure the mount using the positioning sticker as a guide. For better adhesion, wait 3–5 hours before placing your phone on the mount.

Hide the cable in the gaps between the interior trim panels and connect it to the rear power supply.

Alternatively, use an OBD adapter on the driver’s side for easier power access. Please confirm that your vehicle has a compatible port first.

Step 4-1: HUD Ultra Display OTA Update

Step 1: Download HUD Ultra display OTA file.

Step 2: Keep the tesla in P.

Step 3: Power the screen via Type-C.

Step 4: Touch the Tesla screen with three fingers for 3+ seconds.

Step 5: Scan the TITA QR code to start the OTA update.

Step 1: Download the transmitter update file.

Step 2: Power the TITA HUD screen.

Step 3: Press and hold the right scroll wheel to the left until a QR code appears.

Step 4: Scan the QR code and upload the file on the update page.

About TITA HUD
Will the TITA transmitter affect my Tesla warranty or service?
The TITA transmitter uses a one-way, read-only connection. It does not send control commands or modify your vehicle’s original systems. Warranty coverage is ultimately determined by Tesla and applicable local laws.
Do I need professional installation?
No. The installation is straightforward and can usually be completed at home. If you run into any issues, feel free to contact us for assistance.
Does TITA provide ongoing OTA updates?
Yes. TITA provides monthly OTA updates for the HUD Pro and HUD Ultra and transmitter.
Which apps are compatible with TITA?
TITA currently works with Dashla. We are also exploring compatibility with additional apps and developing our own app.
Can I continue using other similar accessories with the TITA transmitter installed?
Yes. The TITA transmitter includes a spare OBD port for compatible accessories. Connect the TITA transmitter first, then connect the other device through the spare port.
